To begin class, we sat down and wrote the agenda in our binder reminders. We then did our Creat-obers, I did Face-tober, where the prompt was: daisies, long hair, and picnic. Afterwards, we took out our English notebooks and began week ten G-Q-Q-S. Our grammar lesson was on point of view. Then, we read An Emerson Land Acknowledgement and moved on to our quote: "It does not require many words to speak the truth." by Chief Joseph. After we discussed some of our personal reflections on the quote, we were asked the question: is it offensive to use Native Americans as team mascots? We talked about it for a little, wrote down our answers, and finally packed up and waited for Ms. Nakada to dismiss us.
