Today we started off with writing down our agendas and listening to our take a minute like usual. After we were done Ms. Nakada asked us about the take a minute. Then, Ms. Nakada asked me if I had done the blog which I had responded with no because I hadn't. She then, walked over to me with the blog chrome book and I asked her if I could do it with Evelyn, which she responded with yes, and let us move up to the front of the room. We then, took Cornell notes on "Let's Revive the Golden Rule" a TED Talk by Karen Armstrong for our Lines of the week.

Once we were done, Ms. Nakada handed out the essay prompts for our literature circle books. She then explained the prompts and told us to plan out the essay we were going to do.  After, we started on our prompts, class was over so we packed up, put up our chairs and waited for the bell to ring. After the bell rang, we were dismissed and went home.

After the video was done, she collected some people's field trip slips and then told us to take out our English notebooks. Today we wrote the grammar and quote. Grammar: imagery, irony, and inference. The quote: "Nothing in the Golden Rule states that others will treat us as we have treated them. It only says that we must treat others in a way we want to be treated." Rosa Parks

After, we worked on our book brackets. Then we were told to pack up our stuff and then we got dismissed.

After everyone was done, Scarlett read her blog from yesterday and decided to make a wheel to choose the next person. She chose two Jade's, two Chloe's, and five Scarlett's. I got chosen and took my seat at the front. After, Ms. Nakada made blog corrections and started the poem "How to Triumph Like a Girl"  by Ada Limon. The main idea of the book was how a women may compare the power of a women to the power of a horse. Next, we moved onto the book brackets where we choose which book we prefer over the other. Ms. Nakada then told us to bring out our book projects for the gallery walk. Once everyone was done walking and grabbing food, we cleaned up the mess left from the chocolate cake Vianney made. Finally, we packed up and waited for the bell to ring.

We started the final period of the day by writing down our agenda, and watching the take a minute video for the week. After Keven read his blog, he chose me to write the blog for today. Later, we discussed the question for the week: Is it harder to lift people up or punch down? We talked about how it's easy to punch down on someone but the punches might be landing so we should try to lift others up. Then, Ms. Nakada, gave us until the end of the period for reader's workshop. Lastly, we packed up and waited to be dismissed.
