research presentation

We started off the day with our take a minute. Then, Jalen read the blog and made a wheel. I was chosen because I was put on the wheel twenty times. Next, we started working on the G.Q.Q.S. After that, Ms. Nakada passed out A.C.E. sheets. Then, we moved into groups of two and presented our black author slideshows. Once we finished presenting and writing our A.C.E, we got packed up and ready to leave.

FINAL BOOK PROJECT DUE MARCH 19

To start off the sixth period, we watched the take a minute video. Once we finished the video, Vianney read her blog and picked the wheel. I was chosen to do the blog. We got into grammar and got introduced to two words. The two words were foreshadowing and free verse. Then, we got into the quote for the week. The quote was by Alice Walker, and she stated, "No one is your friend who demands your silence or denies your right to grow." After talking about the quote, we got into our literature circle evaluation. This was our exit ticket to leave, since we didn't have enough time to do the research presentations, and once the bell rang, everyone put up their chairs and left.

Research projects

[HW] Enjoy each moment of your weekend!

We started off with a video about focusing on one thing at a time so we can do it with great care. Afterwards, Ms. Nakada talked a little about the research project before we transitioned to our last lit. circle which some people were already done with. For the people who were done with their lit. circle, they went directly into finishing their research project which was due today. Ms. Nakada kept answering questions about the project and told us that it feels good to turn things in on time even if it is not the final product. We had four minutes left so Ms. Nakada gave us a warning before she realized she had forgotten to make us do the quiz...hehe. Everything went by fast during the final minutes. Chairs were put up, people packed up, and we all awaited the bell. Once it rang we were ready to leave into the real world to do who knows what.

Homework: Reading Journal 9.2, literature circles books, IReady; 15 lessons!

The class came in, and we all took our seats. We began by writing the agenda down and watching a take a minute video on how it is healthy to focus on one thing and how it is more efficient. Once we finished the take a minute video, we began to answer the question on how social platforms challenge and reinforce ideas such as gender stereotypes. After we had finished the question, we began to read our literature circles books and summarize what we read when we finished reading. Then, to end the day, we continued the research on Black authors.

We started the class writing down the agenda and listening to the Take a Minute video. We moved on to Friday's agenda and Ms. Nakada shared Mama Pig's pregnancy announcement. We then jumped into our grammar lesson: figurative language.  We talked about our quote by Malala Yousafzai, who said, "We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back." This opened a discussion on who takes up space in public. Next, we worked on the bibliography for the Black Author Project. Then, I got ready to go home and end the school day. No lit circles.
