Then, Ms. Nakada asked me if I had done the blog which I had responded with no because I hadn't. She then, walked over to me with the blog chrome book and I asked her if I could do it with Evelyn, which she responded with yes, and let us move up to the front of the room. We then, took Cornell notes on "Let's Revive the Golden Rule" a TED Talk by Karen Armstrong for our Lines of the week.

Once we were done, Ms. Nakada handed out the essay prompts for our literature circle books. She then explained the prompts and told us to plan out the essay we were going to do.  After, we started on our prompts, class was over so we packed up, put up our chairs and waited for the bell to ring. After everyone was done, Scarlett read her blog from yesterday and decided to make a wheel to choose the next person. She chose two Jade's, two Chloe's, and five Scarlett's. I got chosen and took my seat at the front. After, Ms. Nakada made blog corrections and started the poem "How to Triumph Like a Girl"  by Ada Limon. The main idea of the book was how a women may compare the power of a women to the power of a horse. Next, we moved onto the book brackets where we choose which book we prefer over the other. Ms. Nakada then told us to bring out our book projects for the gallery walk. Once everyone was done walking and grabbing food, we cleaned up the mess left from the chocolate cake Vianney made. Later, we discussed the question for the week: Is it harder to lift people up or punch down? We talked about how it's easy to punch down on someone but the punches might be landing so we should try to lift others up. Then, Ms. Nakada, gave us until the end of the period for reader's workshop. Lastly, we packed up and waited to be dismissed.

FINAL BOOK PROJECT DUE MARCH 19

To start off the sixth period, we watched the take a minute video. Once we finished the video, Vianney read her blog and picked the wheel. I was chosen to do the blog. We got into grammar and got introduced to two words. The two words were foreshadowing and free verse. Then, we got into the quote for the week. The quote was by Alice Walker, and she stated, "No one is your friend who demands your silence or denies your right to grow." After talking about the quote, we got into our literature circle evaluation. This was our exit ticket to leave, since we didn't have enough time to do the research presentations, and once the bell rang, everyone put up their chairs and left.

[HW] Enjoy each moment of your weekend!

We started off with a video about focusing on one thing at a time so we can do it with great care. Afterwards, Ms. Nakada talked a little about the research project before we transitioned to our last lit. circle which some people were already done with. For the people who were done with their lit. circle, they went directly into finishing their research project which was due today. Ms. Nakada kept answering questions about the project and told us that it feels good to turn things in on time even if it is not the final product. We had four minutes left so Ms. Nakada gave us a warning before she realized she had forgotten to make us do the quiz...hehe. Everything went by fast during the final minutes. Chairs were put up, people packed up, and we all awaited the bell. Once it rang we were ready to leave into the real world to do who knows what.
