We started off the period by watching the take a minute video and writing in our agendas. Ms. Nakada then went over some breathing exercises we can do if we get stressed out, or need to calm down.  Chloe then read her blog, and I got chosen. Then, Ms. Nakada went over how many minutes of iReady we should have, which was 40 minutes. After that, she walked around the classroom and graded our reading journals and binder reminders. Then, we did readers/writers workshop for about 10-20 minutes. Once that was done, we walked around the classroom for a gallery walk to look at our classmates novel submissions.  Afterwards, Ms. Nakada collected the submissions. Once everything was collected, she opened the Week 16 Quiz for us to take. Finally, we packed up and the bell rang.

RJ 16.2 iReady 20-40 minutes

or Read/ reviews novels

We first wrote down the agenda and then went to reading the blog. I got chosen. Ms. Nakada then told us that we should read one million words by the end of the year, so that we could join the one million club. We then went to our week 16 notes. The first thing we did was the question. The question was: "Who is telling the stories? Who are they about? Who are for? Why are they important?" After we talked about the question, we then went to talking about the song. The song was "Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your story" by Lin Manuel Miranda. The song was talking about people preserving the legacy of people's lives. We went back to the NaNo submission where we talked about the excerpts which is the first 100-300 words for the beginning. The allusion excerpt contains a literary reference. The research excerpt has part of the novel where you had to do research. As some of us finished up what we were doing, the bell rang, and we waited to be dismissed.

[HW] RJ 16.1 i-Ready 20-40 minutes or read/revise novels.

We started off with the wheel of doomed bloggers that Eliora decided, and decided to put my name five times so I obviously got picked. Ms. Nakada then handed out awards and afterwards, we began our grammar lesson which was proofreading -proofreading consists of caps/cups. Ms. Nakada explained different marks teachers might put for things like capitalization, spelling, etc. Our quote this week was by Dawn Stanley that was about how people can only see the rewards that come to others but not the effort or challenges faced by those people and Ms. Nakada gave us a few moments to discuss with table partners about what we believe it meant. Once the discussion was wrapped up we worked on our NaNoWriMo covers which include authors, titles, and images which was all worth 4 points plus, we also had to work on our synopsis for the rest of the class. We began to pack up at 3:10 to go home. We waited...and waited..the bell finally rang and we were free to go into society.
